Who We Are

Botetourt County Chapter, NSDAR, received a charter on Jan. 23, 1965.

The Botetourt County Chapter, NSDAR, maintains the Allen-Carper (a Patriot-associated family) Cemetery in Eagle Rock, Virginia. Some of the chapter's service projects include providing a scholarship for a high school senior; clipping manufacturers coupons for military families; placing small flags on the graves of veterans in Godwin Cemetery on Memorial Day and Veterans Day; working with the Botetourt Food Pantry; working with Boy Scouts of America Troop 211 to help them acquire badges; and providing docent services for the Botetourt Historical Museum. They volunteer in many capacities for others, as well. Nationally and internationally, the DAR membership has donated over 10 million volunteer hours.

What We Do

For more than a century, the members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution have focused on historical preservation, promoting education, and patriotism. These focal points are the same in today's society as they were when the organization was founded in 1890.
